The working world; know what your boss expects of you.

In the work environment – you’ll need to have ‘transferable skills.’ Here are some quick tips on self-management, work ethic and humility.

Part of transitioning from youth to adult is learning to self-manage. My friend and author Robyn Pearce’s recommends getting ready first so you won’t get distracted doing that ‘one last thing’ that fast-tracks you from being on time to being late!

Getting enough sleep and laying off mind altering substances are simple but effective habits that will give you a clear, focused head to produce good work.

The last key is humility. Confidence and awesome ideas are great. But not without humility. It is defined as ‘having a modest or low view of one’s importance.’

Laslo Block the past Head of People Operations at Google, explains it well – he says a person’s willingness to learn is more important than their intellectual brilliance.
